Essential Oils
Sometimes, Dr. Garrett may suggest essential oils or supplements to help with healing or pain relief after a procedure. As a small example, clove oil in particular has often been recommended to patients who are experiencing tooth pain due to the high levels of eugenol contained in the oil. There are a plethora of supplements that will also combat pain and inflammation. We can work with your specific needs to suggest a plan of action for managing your care before during and after your dental procedure.
Nutrition Counseling and Supplements
Because dental health is a key component in the general health of the human body, and vice versa, we’re pleased to offer nutrition counseling at Healthy Roots Dentistry. Nutrition counseling often comes hand-in-hand with a supplement plan, so the supplement and your diet can work hand in hand to help your body heal.
For example, a patient who is having mercury containing fillings removed will be offered an optimal supplement mix to aide the body in heavy metal detox. We commonly also refer patients for IV-chelation therapy to further aid in the removal of heavy metals commonly associated with older dental materials.
